Join SCASC Today! TREVOR REISS of Laurens District 55 High School Elected as SCASC President Over 300 delegates gathered at Riverside High School for the 61st Annual SCASC Convention March 20-22. The theme of the convention was "Sights, Lights and Leadership." Delegates were inspired by speakers Jill Esplin and Brett Eastburn.  Everyone was entertained by Elvis and hypnotist, Tom DeLuca.  Participants enjoyed a scavenger hunt in downtown Greenville and uplifting workshops.  A slate of six new district chairmen were elected Saturday.  At the awards banquet many schools received Best Project Awards and 12 schools were named Gavel award winners. Mr. China Austin of Bates Middle School in Sumter was recognized as the Advisor of the Year and for his 25 years of service, while Mr. Louis Lavely of Travelers Rest High School was named Administrator of the Year.   Mr. Roger Mize of Laurens District 55 High School was elected by the advisors to finish out the 2007-2010 term as assistant executive director. On Sunday morning, the convention concluded with the election of state officers and a video overview of the weekend. Congratulations, Riverside, on an excellent job!  Laurens District 55 High School, we will see you in 2010!
